Strummerville Spring Sessions featuring Frank Turner

On Thursday night I headed down to the Strummerville Spring Sessions.. which was held in a car park in East London. Featuring a list of talented musician/bands such as The Barker Band, The Joker and the Thief, The Welcome Committee and Frank Turner (to name but a few), Strummerville is a charity that runs gigs/promotes new music and offers support to aspiring musicians. It was set up by the friends and family of Joe Strummer the year after his death (who was mainly known for his part in the explosive band The Clash). With the Royal Wedding heading our way, struggling unemployment figures and a government that leads with words such as ‘Big Society’.. I wanted to see what the relationship today between music and politics is.. (if any)…feel free to get involved with the debate..(politely of course..)
