IS TROPICAL – LIES + PETE CARVELL DJ MIX

Restricted due to some ‘titillating(word of the day) scenes this video is a must watch. The track is Lies by mysterious trio Is Tropical who are producing some interesting work at the moment. It is the third release from their debut album ‘Native To’ on Kitsune…it’s one I shall be enforcing on some of my serial dater girlfriends… check it out here:

I’m also enjoying this mix from the talented DJ – Pete Carvell (Bad Life/Gash Digital). Bad Life is a label formed by autoKratz and their friends and the team are currently busy organising the Bad Life 1st Birthday European tour and they may be coming to a city near you soon so keep your eyes peeled. Having witnessed Autokratz perform on Naksan Beach in the deepest darkest wilderness of South Korea and seeing Pete perform in…the concrete jungle most of us know as er London I can assure you that the tour will be definitely be one to watch out for.

M83 Midnight City (Big Black Delta Remix) and VanGuard remix

Cute eyebrows.. reminds me of the No Doubt Gwen Stefani style in good ole… 1995

You’ve by now, most probably heard the M83 Midnight City tune right? Now it’s time to remix that ferschiz up – check out the first official remix from Big Black Delta (Venezuelan-born Jonathan Bates, formerly of the Los Angeles band Mellowdrone) – it’s got some funky jazz kinda thing going on.

Also the fella’s I met on a ferry whilst with Chilly Gonzales – VanGuard have remixed this – which I’m very keen on it’s entitled ‘The Scientists of Modern Music – Because If I Die’ (Vanguard Remix). I like it and because I like it you should like it too.

Happy Friday kids and remember if you can’t be good.. be safe.

The Inspiration Series goes to Camp Bestival featuring Ed Sheeran

The Inspiration Series goes to Camp Bestival featuring Ed Sheeran

ROBIN HOOD: ‘Rise and rise again until lambs become lions’

We travelled from afar in our diesel powered chariot to join our friends the merrymen at Lulworth Castle. Many surprises lurked amongst the tranquil background set in the hilly land known to many as Dorset. Shrek got wasted as usual, the cavemen jumped around to the joys of the entertainment put on by King Rob Da Bank and with a fine selection of culinary delights we feasted on pizza pies (Pieminister – yum) and cake. Katy B delighted us bouncing about without any lights because lest we forget lights haven’t actually been invented in medieval times. Mark Ronson paid tribute to the late Amy Winehouse with a storming set including some of Amy’s back catalogue and hysteria set in for Ed Sheeran who woo’ed his female following with his folky hip hop set. On request he belted out one of our favourite medieval tracks… namely…my favourite – The Cuckoo Song…keeping it real for ohDearyme (we always like to nourish new talent)… Travel back in time for the Adventures of Camp Bestival 2011 on ohDearyme…(we would like to apologise now for the bad audio – we had technical difficulties with the microphone I’m afraid… again…)

The Inspiration Series introduces the patrick james pearson band

Fresh from playing Glastonbury here is an introduction to The Patrick James Pearson Band – one of my ‘one’s to watch’.. one’s to watch rise that is… taken over by past Hard Fi/The Bluetones/My Vitriol’s Management – they have some experienced backing helping them up the greasy pole of the music industry. And we hope they make it (turns to cameralady: don’t we Sophie?). Here we discuss fascism/elitism/classism and music* (all very briefly)… also featuring Richard from Hard Fi…

*We hold no grudges against Peaches Geldof – we are simply using her as an example in the topic of debate.

Thank you to Sophie Lasson on camera!

I am also recommending www.amnestytv.co.uk – which has educated me a bit today.. worth a watch!
