Jared Leto: Emo King?

I can’t believe Mr Leto is nearly 40. Nearly 40. Ever get the feeling you’re meant to grow up… get a proper job… settle down… have kids? Well not in Jared’s books.. no siree.. Mr Leto is leading the way in defying age and the expectations of society. And thank bloody Christ… Or is just easier for men? How many females are there being all emo these days? Someone get me some statistics..

The crowd: die hard Leto fans, were not going to waste their voices screaming for the support bands at this gig. 30 Seconds to Mars followers are die hard fanatics, not to be messed with. They waited until the very moment Jared walked upon the stage to use their voices (to scream) and the atmosphere morphed from anticipation to electric emo worshipping. The God like spotlight beaming down upon Jared as he ran through the crowd.. the fans clawing at him.. which in some way made me feel happy and content. Because for a while there I thought the world was lost.. lost to acts like JLS.. forever.. and ever.. and .. then I realised – I haven’t seen an act so idolised.. since.. since Michael Jackson. In fact I wouldn’t be surprised if Jared was creating his own cult at this very moment. When I spoke to his fans many of them were uncomfortably shy. Only Jared’s lyrics (and eyes apparently) strong enough to draw out the screams and shrieks of these emo children.

(an emo child is any age and is a follower of the emo religion which can also be identified as alternative rock, soft rock, rock, emo, music… anything emotional with guitars really.)

Hmmm the power of lyrics.. here is a little video I made of the experience.. and if you do get the chance head to one of their gigs it’s totally worth it especially to experience the live performance of The Kill… (They are playing at Download this summer). I do hope you enjoy it.

I am 32 and have been following 30 seconds to mars from the start and i was at the manchester and nottingham gigs. Jared Leto speaks out to us all and no he is not an Emo King more like a Punk King now. Amazing concert and it is not just Jared it is all down to Shannon and Tomo who get bypassed for the lead man!!

    Hey B,
They aren’t the most lively and receptive of fans are they? I though you should have added a sound over with bells tolling and tumbleweed rolling by for extra clarity!
FYI – I can’t believe Leto’s hair. I was rockin’ that look 5 years ago, and even I looked like a bell end.

Ooops. Bet I’ve upset the emo kids now.
